In a climate where many schools have reduced the number of education trips and visits, at Tavistock College we firmly believe in the value of learning outside of the classroom. School trips and visits offer every young person an experience beyond the classroom, which is an essential part of learning and development, whatever their age, ability or circumstance.
Tavistock College organises a wide range of trips, expeditions and visits, locally, nationally and internationally, for pupils from Year 7 to Year 13. All of our students will have the opportunity to take part in an increasing number of extended educational opportunities. As a College we want to ensure that all trips and visits enhance the learning of students and help them to progress.
All trips are organised in accordance with Devon County Council guidelines which cover student/staff ratios, travel arrangements, procedures in the event of an emergency and parental consent for trips and visits.

As a College we completely understand that the current economic climate is effecting us all, and in some cases the comprehensive range of extended learning experiences we offer can appear to add pressure to this sensitive issue. We will endeavour to support parents and carers where we can, looking at payment plans and where necessary extended payment deadlines. In addition parents can apply for funding from our trustees, or if students are entitled to free School meals, are in care or have specific needs, there is also financial support available. We do appreciate the financial pressures families are under at the moment and we will do our best to give plenty of notice and to keep the costs as low as we can.
Payments for a trip, visit or event must be in an envelope clearly marked with Student Name, Tutor Group and Event to which it relates. If paying by cheque, this information must be written on the reverse of the cheque.
All monies for trips, visits and activities should be paid at the 'glass window' by the first aid room in the concourse during the following times:
Unfortunately we are unable to accept student payments after 11:30am.
