Key Dates for 2013 include:

  • Tuesday 18th June: Year 6 Parents' Evening
We would like to invite you to attend the New Parents’ Evening which we are holding on Tuesday 18th June from 6.30 pm. At this evening you will be able to meet the transition team and your child’s tutor. We hope that you appreciate the importance of this evening and are able to attend. In the course of the evening you will see and be able to order uniform and PE kit, find out about the PTA and Parents’ Meetings and be able to ask us questions. We will be outlining how you as parents can help your child achieve success here at Tavistock College and tips for making the transition a smooth one.
  • Tuesday 9th July: Year 6 Taster Day
This day will take place in the summer term. We would like to invite all Year 6 pupils coming to the College to attend a “Taster Day” arranged in tutor groups on 9th July. On this day they will be able to meet other students in their own tutor group, their tutor and Head of Year, as well as other staff and students in what we hope will be an enjoyable introduction to our College. Details of the day, along with your son/daughter’s tutor group, will follow later in the year. Relevant information to help us to create balanced tutor groups, which takes into account a mix of gender, ability, talents and particular needs, will be provided by the Primary Schools. Unlike previous years, your son/daughter will not be required to choose a Modern Language before they start at the College. During the year they will be having a taster of a variety of languages which will enable them to make an informed choice with the support of their language teachers at the end of Year 7.
  • Monday 9th September: First day of term
