Tavistock College Artists Display their Work at the Wharf
Tavistock College A level students are inviting the community to a showcase of their work at the town’s creative hub.
For the first time, textiles and photography students are collaborating on a fashion exhibition at Tavistock Wharf to present their work to the local community and experience the professional demands of being an artist.
Teacher Jenny Harris said: “This exhibition is to promote the talented up and coming textile artists and photographers at Tavistock College.
“All the students have worked incredibly hard to create this exhibition, from designing and making to the photographs and organisation of it.”
The 10 textiles students created the garments, before three photography students captured their work. They organised a photo shoot and set up lighting and backdrops before directing the models to ensure their work looked its very best.
“Please come along and support our talented students at Tavistock College,” added Ms Harris. “This exhibition will give you a slice of contemporary work at its best. I would like to thank the Wharf for supporting the students by providing the space for them to hold this exhibition.”
Entry is free. The exhibition runs from November 30 to January 4 at Tavistock Wharf.
