Parent Governor Elections Update

The Governing Body is delighted to welcome two new parent governors, following the recent election process. From three very strong candidates, Jan Montague and Sharon Samuel will join the governing body with immediate effect. We extend a warm thank you to everyone who voted and displayed such interest. Parent governors are responsible for representing the views of parents and carers. They may be contacted through the school direct, or via the Clerk to Governors.

Alison Malcolm has stepped down as Chair to Governors as she is shortly to relocate from Devon. She will however remain on the governing body for this term to ensure a smooth transition. As an interim measure Vice Chair Liz Falconer has stepped into the Chair role, supported by Alan Wroath and Alan Jones as joint Vice Chair for this term. There will be an election for a Chair and a Vice Chair at the end of this term. The Governing Body are extremely grateful to Alison for her hard work as Chair of Governors. She has played a major role in the College becoming a Cooperative Trust and also met with both OFSTED and the Local Authority to champion the college at a time of rapid change and improvement.

Election of Parent Governors

Tavistock College March 2013

Nominations have now closed and we have 3 candidates for two parent governor vacancies. The election will take place after the Easter holidays and ballot papers will be sent home with your child during the week commencing 15th April. Please read the supporting statement from each candidate to assist when you cast your vote. The ballot will close at 12.00 noon on Friday 26 April.
